What is BLP?

BLP is an acronym for Bad Luck Protection, and is typically quantified in points. Bad Luck Protection is a system which helps prevent long streaks of bad luck. Your BLP starts at 0. In general, watching a streamer and participating in giveaways and other activities will increase your chances of winning future giveaways by earning BLP.

Does a BLP based Giveaway function as a list?

Not at all. Every entrant rolls a virtual 1,000 sided die, with the top roll being 1,000. No matter how much BLP you have, you can never roll above 1000. Even someone with 1,000 BLP can lose to someone with 0 BLP; however the odds are pretty low.

How do I increase my BLP?

Here are some various ways to increase your BLP:

* BLP increases denoted with the asterisk above may or may not be enabled for each stream as each streamer can configure them differently.

What's the difference between entering the keyword for a giveaway and AFK?

Both options award BLP to all non-winners once the giveaway is locked in (finalized). The difference is that when you enter via AFK, the bot will never pick you as a winner. The AFK entry method is perfect for when you are at work for example, and you would be unable to accept the prize. You can always toggle your entry status between AFK and non-AFK by typing the opposing keyword while the giveaway is still open.

What happens when I win a giveaway?

Whenever you win a giveaway, your BLP typically gets reset back to zero.

What is the math behind BLP?

Each person entered into a giveaway has the bot virtually roll a dice (0-1000), and the person with the highest roll wins. Any ties are broken by random chance without any weights. Each BLP you have increases your minimum roll by 1 thus increasing your odds of rolling higher and eliminating any possibility of rolling below your BLP amount. Below are some examples:
